Our story

Overlooking the bend where the Sile joins the Cagnan, the Ponte Dante inn is located in a magnificent and timeless place, mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy as if to represent, in the beauty of this glimpse, the entire city of Treviso. One of the places most dear to the Treviso people, where time seems to have stopped and the memory of the past lives among the branches of centuries-old trees and the constant flow of the waters. In the 60s and 70s, the Antica Osteria Ponte Dante had become one of Treviso’s typical meeting places.

The building, whose layout dates back to the fourteenth century, is spread over three floors.
On the occasion of the change of management it was completely restored and inside it is now possible to find the oldest history of Treviso. During the meticulous restoration, in fact, medieval paintings and frescoes were found, ancient traces of holes and openings, fireplaces and evidence of older stairs.

Five very modern rooms have been obtained from the Renaissance palace. The systems, furnishings and even the frescoes found inside the showers were left exposed, protecting them with internal windows. Every trace of reinforced concrete has been made to disappear and the frescoes, together with the masonry, have been recovered following the original ancient systems.

The ancient trace of the building has been restored, enhancing every find for the use of guests, who will be able to enjoy it. Also for the finishes and furnishings it was chosen to show the artisan quality of the products as much as possible. To the south-west, the inn offers an enchanting and suggestive view of the neighborhood, which is always lively thanks to its proximity to the University. The façade itself houses a fresco representing the monogram of San Bernardino da Siena, while the façade on Piazza Garibaldi has been cleaned and restored, making the existing fresco fully resurface.

The ancient Osteria, located on the ground floor, has been renovated in the premises but maintains its strong tradition, leading its guests to the rediscovery of Venetian culinary roots. The strong bond with the territory is expressed in the seasonal menus, which offer the best specialties made of typical Treviso flavors.

The new inn is ready to return to its former glory and to welcome you with the authentic and genuine hospitality of its hosts. It turns out to be the best solution for those who want to visit Treviso and the Marca Trevigiana, fully breathing its scents and traditions.

The restoration work was carried out by the Aldo Valente Architetti studio of Castelfranco Veneto.
